The Printed Image III an exhibit of etchings, lithographs, relief prints and monotypes by over ten artists. The show will feature the work of Boerum Hill artist Leslie Kerby. Ms. Kerby’s linocuts have a strong narrative quality that engages the viewer and challenges them to fill in the stories she creates.

Other artists include well-known print maker Andy Hoogenboom whose etchings and monotypes depict musicians in the act of performing. Janet Yake’s monotypes of household items have a quiet strength to them. Karen Whitman’s relief prints of New York rooftops and alleyways have been shown throughout the United States. The show will include prints by Jack Levine, Sigmund Abeles, Ethel Magafan and Mexican artists from the 40’s Alfredo Zalce and Garcia Bustos. All these artists are well known to print collectors. There will be information on the various techniques of printmaking so take this opportunity to learn more about these traditional printmaking processes.
